1970 Hertz Sunroof Eliminator

Well this weekend was busy !!. I left Sharpsburg Georgia at 6 am on Friday, October 12th to take this Cougar to its new owner. I had made a deal to acquire some much needed parts for my 1970 Boss 302 and I found an individual that wanted to trade their parts for this car. I made the trip with Michael Richards and his son Carson. Our trip was uneventful and we made it to Joppa Maryland by 7pm- traffic near the DC and Baltimore was terrible-of course normal for a Friday evening. The car was then delivered to the new owner on Saturday morning and the deal finalized with the acquisition of the parts. It was a tough decision to let this car go but the new owner Russ was excited to get the car and start on his new "project". We then drove back home on Saturday we made a stop in Harrisonburg Virginia to source a correct Top loader 4 Speed for the Boss 302 - an AUG-AW 28 spline close ratio 4 speed transmission. Johnny was a nice guy and drove out of his way to meet us along the interstate so we could arrange for pickup. Then it was back on the road and the arrival at 1am on Sunday, October 14th. Next step is to get the engine to a reputable builder and see what we have and what we need to do to get this engine back into service. The transmission will also be dropped of to David Eason in Atlanta Georgia for a look and to see what needs to be done to place it into duty.
